About the role:
The Health & Safety Manager is responsible, under the strategic direction of the Head of Health & Safety, for leading operational health, safety and environmental compliance across an allocated portfolio of two College campuses at City of Portsmouth College.
The post holder will provide independent professional advice, drive statutory compliance, and contribute to the development of a positive and proactive safety culture. They will hold delegated responsibility for monitoring, reviewing and providing assurance on health and safety performance within their allocated campuses, helping to ensure safe and compliant environments for employees, learners, contractors and visitors, and escalating material risks where necessary.
Working in partnership with Assistant Principals and Curriculum Managers, the Health & Safety Manager will ensure that health, safety and wellbeing are embedded within day-to-day operations and aligned with relevant legislation, ISO 45001 principles, safeguarding expectations and Ofsted requirements relating to learner safety.
